What We Do

The Village Collective is a small lifestyle shop in the heart of Canning, Nova Scotia, founded and operated by Clare Rivard. The store brings together thoughtfully chosen clothing and home accessories designed for everyday living—simple, beautiful pieces that are made to last.

We believe that the things we surround ourselves with shape the rhythm of our lives. That’s why every item in the shop is carefully curated: timeless clothing, practical home goods, and lifestyle basics that feel good to use and easy to live with.

Our focus is on quality over excess. By choosing durable materials, versatile designs, and responsible makers whenever possible, we aim to make everyday consumption a little more thoughtful and a little more sustainable.

The Village Collective is more than a store, it’s a reflection of the slower, community-centred life of the Annapolis Valley. A place where good design, practical living, and small-town connection meet.

We’re glad you’re here.

Owner - Clare Rivard

Clare has spent years building businesses rooted in community, craft, and care. As a longtime owner of restaurants and wine-focused ventures in the Annapolis Valley, she’s developed a sharp eye for quality and a deep respect for the stories behind what we consume. Her work has always been about more than products, it’s about creating spaces where people feel connected, welcomed, and inspired. That same philosophy now carries into The Village Collective.

With this next chapter, Clare brings her experience and instinct for curation into the world of consignment. The Village Collective is a reflection of her belief that great pieces deserve a second life and that thoughtful consumption can still feel beautiful and personal. Each item is chosen with intention, blending timeless style with everyday function. It’s not just a shop, it’s a place where objects carry history, and where the next chapter begins.
